This is Abid Azad from Bangladesh. Currently he is working with a foreign mission in Bangladesh as its Press Specialist. Earlier he was a Bangladesh based journalist. He worked with Dhaka Tribune, a national daily English newspaper in Bangladesh. He had worked on human rights, migration and human trafficking, Chittagong Hill Tract Issues, indigenous issues, terrorism and militancy, health, women and children and development issues including social crisis.
He had achieved first BRAC Media Awards on Migration, initiated by the BRAC Migration Programme, for his investigative report on human trafficking in eight parts, together with four additional case studies published in July 2015 in Dhaka Tribune.
Previously he had worked at Xtra, the weekend magazine of New Age. Earlier, he worked at The Daily Sun where he had reports on social crisis and troubles, education, human rights, corruption, politics, environment, wild life etc around the country. He had started his journalistic career at New Age as its Jahangirnagar University correspondent.
Besides, he also contributed at CIME, an international newsletter which works worldwide on media and ethics, on its August 2012 issue on the hazardous situation of journalists in Bangladesh.
He has completed his post-graduation from Jahangirnagar University in Cultural Studies and English Literature.
He enjoys introducing with new people specially the struggling one and likes traveling, reading books, bicycling, and collecting coins & banknotes.
He has interests on the (minority) people, religion and conflicts and human life.
